The court's rulings on child support, child
custody and visitation can all be revisited under certain
circumstances. Although to numerous to list here, custody
and visitation provisions can be modified when there has
been a substantial change of circumstances since the entry
of the prior court order. Child support can be modified when
a recalculation of child support would result in an increase
(or decrease) of $50.00 or 15%, whichever is greater.
While many child support
modification cases involve the parent's changes in income,
the increased (or decreased) cost of the child's health
insurance or the child's day care expense can have a dramatic
effect on the amount of child support. Also, certain visitation
schedules may allow for decreased child support. |
